StoryFrame’s local-first design
StoryFrame is currently designed as a local-first Windows desktop application. Imported photos, videos, and audio are processed on your computer and are not intentionally uploaded to Ferchocol Software servers. No StoryFrame account is currently required. StoryFrame currently includes no advertising, behavioral tracking, or intentional analytics or telemetry.
Information in local projects and files
StoryFrame project files may contain paths to media stored on your computer. Preview rendering creates temporary local MP4 files, and completed exports are saved to locations you select. StoryFrame attempts to remove replaced previews and preview files when it exits, but temporary files may remain after a crash or forced shutdown.
Diagnostic information
If you choose to share diagnostic logs with Ferchocol Software, those logs may contain local file paths, filenames, output locations, operating-system information, and FFmpeg version information. File paths can reveal a Windows username or personal filenames. Please review logs before sharing them.
Windows Beta application information
When you apply for the StoryFrame Windows Beta, we collect the information you submit: your name, email address, Windows version, computer type, video-editing experience, intended project, and agreement to provide feedback.
Please do not submit passwords, financial details, government identification numbers, health information, private media, or other sensitive personal information through the beta application.
How we use beta applicant information
Ferchocol Software uses beta applicant information to:
- review and evaluate beta applications;
- select a balanced group of testers with suitable Windows systems and experience levels;
- contact applicants about selection, access, instructions, updates, surveys, and beta participation;
- understand likely projects and testing needs; and
- administer, support, protect, and improve the StoryFrame beta.
We do not sell beta applicant information. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance or access.
Service providers and disclosure
Beta applications are submitted through Formspree, which processes form information on our behalf and provides spam-prevention features. Formspree’s handling of information is also governed by its own privacy terms. Ferchocol Software may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or security, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate protections.
Retention
We retain beta applicant information only as long as reasonably necessary to evaluate applications, administer the beta, maintain relevant records, and meet legal or security obligations. Information that is no longer needed will be deleted or anonymized when reasonably practicable.
Your choices
You may ask to access, correct, or delete your beta applicant information, or withdraw from consideration, by emailing privacy@ferchocol.com. Some information may be retained where required for legal, fraud-prevention, or security purposes.
Changes to StoryFrame
If StoryFrame later adds accounts, cloud synchronization, analytics, automatic crash reporting, or other online services, this notice will be reviewed and updated before those features are released.
